During the winter the pond is covered from october to march the following year but the pumping rates are not reduced to 80% until febuary when feeding has stopped.

The following graphs are costs per month and average daily cost which correspond to the 1999 temperature table(top of page) The costs for the year 2000 will be up dated on a monthly basis
The total cost for heating the pond for the above 12 month period was £418.69 which averaged out at £1.13 per day. Although we had a fairly mild winter,the costs were slightly higher than antisipated due to the low temperatures reached during the summer.It is now my intention to only heat the pond to the temperature that would normally be reached during the day in the summer and therefore hopefully this will reduce the costs to £1.00 per day as origonally planned.
