My pond is a two pond system.The main pond is 5600 gallons and top pond is 600gallons which are now joined together by a waterfall.The main pond is home to my 22 Koi Carp varying in size from 6" to 24".My top pond is used as a vegetable filterThus reducing the nuetrients mainly nitrates and phosphates.

There are now 2 external filters incorporated into the waterfall system,which are supplied by there own separate pumps Water is drawn from the largest pond by a Amphibious 720 via greenmachine 2000 gravity filter and into the first of the external filters via a 15 watt ultraviolet light.and then onto the vegetable filter and then finally back to the main pond via the waterfall.

Water is also taken from the main pond in the form of a skimmer whch is directed to the homemade trickle filter via a heat exchanger, see(Home made filter). and delivers water to the top pond and once again to the main pond via the waterfall.

Since the above system has been in operation I have Suffered no casualties,and have increased the growth rate of the Koi.
